  1.	Please read Notification for SET 2012.
  2.	Click here to download Bank Challan, print it and deposit required applicable fee at nearest branch of Bank of India, Indian Bank and Indian Overseas Bank. The candidates are requested to download bank challan individually (do not take photo copies/xerox of other candidate's bank challan).   3.	Login by using your registration id and password.		Scan your passport (PP) size photograph in JPEG format. Make sure it should be 206 X 240 Pixel dimension (w X h) and less than 200kb. Scan your copy of Bank Challan (fee remittance receipt). Make sure it should be less than 300kb.
  4.	Review your personal and educational details and proceed. Hint: You may edit any detail(s), if required.		Upload your photograph and scanned copy of Bank Challan. Before uploading the photograph, check that you are uploading the right PP size (206 X 240 Px) photograph of yourself and valid Bank Challan (fee remittance receipt).
  5.	Review your photograph and update, if required.		Start the procedure to create login account by clicking on button - "Start procedure" and act accordingly. Provide your personal and educational details to create your login account.
  6.	Download and print copy of filled Application Form, Attendance Slip and Hall Ticket		To apply for SET 2012, Provide required information in "Not Registered Yet?" section and act accordingly.

இயற்பியல் தேர்வு எளிதாகவே இருந்தது - 12-03-2011

பிளஸ் 2 மாணவர்களுக்கு நேற்று நடந்த இயற்பியல் தேர்வு, ஒட்டுமொத்த அளவில் எளிதாக இருந்தது. 5 மதிப்பெண் பகுதியில் சில கேள்விகள், குழப்பும் வகையில் கேட்கப்பட்டிருந்தன.

பிளஸ் 2 மாணவர்களுக்கு மிகவும் முக்கியமான இயற்பியல் தேர்வு நேற்று காலையில் நடந்தது.தேர்வெழுதிவிட்டு, வெளியே வந்த பள்ளி மாணவர்கள், "தேர்வு எளிதாக இருந்தது. குளறுபடியான கேள்விகள் எதுவும் இடம்பெறவில்லை" என்றனர். கேள்வித்தாள் குறித்து, இயற்பியல் ஆசிரியர்கள் சிலரிடம் கேட்டபோது, அவர்கள் கூறியதாவது: ஒட்டுமொத்த அளவில், கேள்வித்தாள் மிகவும் எளிதாகவே அமைந்திருந்தது. ஒரு மதிப்பெண் பகுதியில், 30க்கு 18 கேள்விகள், பாடப் புத்தகத்தில் இருந்து நேரடியாகவே கேட்கப்பட்டிருந்தன. 3  மதிப்பெண் பகுதியில், மொத்தம் 12 கேள்விகள். அதில் 7 கேள்விகளுக்கு பதிலளிக்க வேண்டும். ஐந்து கேள்விகள்,"சாய்ஸ்!&' இதில், மூன்று கேள்விகள் மாணவர்களை குழப்பும் வகையில் கேட்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. கேள்விகள் சரியானவை என்றாலும், மாணவர்கள் திணறும் வகையில், சுற்றி வளைத்து கேட்டதால், பல மாணவர்கள் அந்த மூன்று கேள்விகளையும்,"சாய்சில்&' விட்டு விட்டனர். கேள்வி எண் 62ல், "தகவல் தொடர்பு அமைப்பியல்" என்ற பாடத்தில் கேட்கப்பட்டது. அந்தப் பாடத்தில் இருந்து வழக்கமாக கேட்கப்படும் கேள்விக்குப் பதிலாக, கணக்கு கேள்வியாக கேட்டு விட்டனர். இதை மாணவர்கள் எதிர்பார்க்கவில்லை. மற்றபடி, எந்தெந்த பாடங்களில் இருந்து, எத்தனை கேள்விகள் வரும், எந்த மாதிரியான கேள்விகள் வரும் என்று மாணவர்களுக்கு முன்கூட்டியே கூறியிருந்தோம். அதே மாதிரி கேள்விகள் வந்திருந்தன. இவ்வாறு அவர்கள் தெரிவித்தனர். தேர்வு எளிதாக இருந்ததாக ஆசிரியர்கள் தெரிவித்த போதும், நேற்றும் பல்வேறு முறைகேடுகளில் ஈடுபட்டு 24 மாணவர்கள், பறக்கும் படை குழுவினரிடம் பிடிபட்டனர். இவர்கள் அனைவரையும், தேர்வு அறைகளில் இருந்து வெளியேற்றி, அதிகாரிகள் நடவடிக்கை எடுத்தனர். தஞ்சாவூர் மாவட்டத்தில் பிடிபட்ட மாணவரைப் பற்றி, சுவாரஸ்யமான தகவல்களை, அதிகாரிகள் தெரிவித்தனர். சரியாக படிக்காமல் தேர்வுக்கு வந்த அம்மாணவர், தெரிந்தவரை விடைகளை எழுதியுள்ளார். எனினும், சரியாக எழுதவில்லையே என்று, "டென்ஷனாக" இருந்தார். பறக்கும் படை குழுவினர், தேர்வு அறைக்குள் சென்றதும், திடீரென விடைத்தாளை துண்டு, துண்டாக கிழித்து, அதிகாரிகள் முன்னிலையிலேயே கீழே போட்டார். மாணவரின் செயலைக் கண்டு, அதிர்ச்சி அடைந்த அதிகாரிகள், தேர்வுத்துறை உயர் அதிகாரிகளுக்கு தகவல் கொடுத்தனர். அதிகாரிகள் உத்தரவின்படி, கிழிக்கப்பட்ட விடைத்தாளை சிறிய பிளாஸ்டிக் பையில் சேகரித்து, "சீல்" வைத்து, எடுத்துச் சென்றனர். அந்த மாணவர், உடனடியாக தேர்வு அறையில் இருந்து வெளியேற்றப்பட்டார். அதிகாரிகள் கூறும்போது, "விடைத்தாளை கிழிப்பது, ஒழுங்கீனச் செயல். அதன்படி, சம்பந்தப்பட்ட மாணவரிடம் இருந்து விளக்கம் கேட்டு, உரிய நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படும்" என்றனர்.

அபூர்வ சந்திர கிரகணம்....

நியூயார்க்: சூரியனிடம் இருந்து நிலாவுக்கு செல்லும் ஒளிக்கதிர்களை பூமி மறைக்கும் சந்திர கிரகணம் 372 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு பின்னர் நேற்று முன்தினம் அதிகாலை நடந்தது. இதுபோன்ற சந்திர கிரகணம் 372 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு குளிர்காலத்தில் தோன்றியது. தற்போதும் கடுமையான குளிர் காலத்தில் இந்த கிரகணம் நடந்தது.

2094ம் ஆண்டு வரை இதுபோன்ற சந்திர கிரகணம் நிகழாது. இந்த சந்திர கிரகணத்தின் போது சூரியனின் ஒளிக்கதிர்கள் நிலாவின் மீது விழாது. பூமி மறைத்து கொள்ளும். கிழக்கு நேரப்படி செவ்வாய்க் கிழமை (21ம் தேதி) அதிகாலை 2.40 மணியில் இருந்து, 3.53 மணி வரை முழு சந்திர கிரகணம் தெரிந்தது. சுமார் 72 நிமிடங்கள் நீடித்தது.

பூமியின் நிழலில், தாமிரம் போன்ற நல்ல சிவப்பு நிறத்தில் நிலா காணப்பட்டது. அன்று வானம் தெளிவாக இருந்ததால், வடஅமெரிக்கர்கள் இந்த சந்திர கிரகணத்தை நன்றாக பார்க்க முடிந்தது. இந்த சந்திர கிரகணம் இந்தியாவில் தெரியவில்லை.

One Year Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Post – Graduates for the Year 2011 – 2012 (OCES 2011) conducted at BARC Training Schools. Table – 1 lists Eligible Disciplines. Table – 2 lists the eligible disciplines and orientation of the training Program at each of the Training Schools along with the placement information after training. A Trainee who scores a minimum of 50% aggregate marks on completion of the training program is declared to have passed the course successfully. Successful Trainees will be posted as scientific officers in one of the following DAE units : Atomic Minerals Directorate for Exploration & Research AMD Hyderabad. Placement can be at the Head Office or at other facilities of these units located in different parts of India. Allocation of a successful OCES trainee to a DAE unit Is done based on merit at the end of the OCES Program. DAE reserves the right to place a small number of selected candidates / trainees to any other unit under the Atomic Energy Commission or the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) apart from those listed above. Successful completion of course work at the Training School will entitle trainees to Post Graduate Diploma of Homi Bhabha – National Institute (HBNI), a Deemed to be University. This could also earn them credits towards M.Tech / M.Phil / Ph.D of HBNI provided their performance Is above a specified threshold. 2. Two – Year DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates and Physics Post Graduates for the term beginning in 2011 (DGFS 2011). Under this scheme, Engineering Graduates and Physics Post Graduates who are selected for the Training School Program and who also have secured admission for M.Tech in select institutes and specializations as listed in Table – 3, are paid stipend and tuition fee to study for M.Tech degree. After successful completion of one Year course work at the institute, fellows undertake project work, which is assigned and supervised jointly by a DAE and an institute guide. On successful completion of M.Tech, they are posted as Scientific Officers in DAE. Oh joining, they are required to first undertake a four – month Orientation Course (OCDF) at the BARC Training School, which is meant to Introduce them to specific academic requirements of the DAE Programs. The DGFS fellows are enrolled and posted in one of the following units of DAE : BARC Mumbai. RRCAT Indore. IGCAR Kalpakkam. NPCIL Mumbai. Allocation of a DGFS fellow to a DAE unit is done at the beginning of the M.Tech Program. Selected candidates are required to execute an agreement and a personal Indemnity Bond to serve DAE or AERB for at least 3 Years after completion of training. Indemnity Bond is for 2,45,000/- for OCES trainees and 5,05,000/- for DGFS fellows. No third party surety Is required. During Training for DAE OCES DGFS 2011 : Stipend and Allowances : OCES trainees as well as DGFS fellows are paid stipend of 20000/- per month during the period of their training and a one – time book allowance of 5,000/-. Boarding and Lodging in DAE / lnstitute Hostel / Guest House is mandatory. On Appointment : Appointment in BHAVINI and NPCIL is governed by the service rules of Corporations, whereas appointment in other units shall be as a Group A Gazetted Officer of the Government of India. Grade and Pay Scale : Appointment in all the units shall be as a Scientific Officer. In the pay band 15600 – 39100/- with grade pay of 5400. Appointment will be at the beginning of the pay scale with OCES trainees getting two or 3 increments depending on their performance during the OCES Program and the DGFS fellows getting 3 or four Increments depending on their performance in M.Tech and four – month Orientation Course. Emoluments (with 3 increments) at the time of joining including Dearness Allowance at the present rate will be approximately 24000/-. In addition, other Allowances are also payable such House Rent, Transport and Professional Update Allowances, & Leave Travel Concession. A comprehensive Contributory Health Service Scheme for employees and their dependent family members is also available at all DAE Units.
